What’s Wrong With The World 2016 is a blog devoted to archiving and studying four hashtags related to political/social activism — #HeForShe, #NeverTrumpOrHillary, #PrayForSyria, and #YesMeansYes.
Over the course of the next few months, this blog will feature updates about the content of these hashtagged tweets, the communities that appear to be forming around them, and custom visuals to help us interpret these hashtag communities. As each of us continue to learn more about theories related to networks, participatory culture, and online communities, our interpretation of the Twitter data will become richer and more definitive. We will be utilizing Grounded Theory, a research method in which the questions used to interpret data are suggested by the data themselves, not from any outside sources.
